International migration constitutes a fundamental experience of contemporary societies in terms of social and economic transformation. The Jean Monnet Chair on Multifaceted Approaches to Migration in the EU and Turkey  (MIG-EU) aims to deepen knowledge on European integration and European studies from the perspective of immigration issues in Europe and Turkey by bringing representatives from different sectors of migration governance together.

The International Migration Academy (online), which will be organized in the scope of the MIG-EU CHAIR will provide participants a multidisciplinary perspective on migration experience of Turkey by tackling  topics including migration history of Turkey, migration in EU-Turkey relations, migration governance in Turkey, Syrians in Turkey, Turkish Diaspora, Migration Studies in Turkey and young refugees in Turkey and Europe.

The International Migration Academy is organized within the scope of Jean Monnet Chair project titled Multifaceted Approaches to Migration in the EU and Turkey (MIG-EU) which is funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökay ÖZERİM at Yaşar University.

Application and participation conditions:

Participation to the international migration academy is free of charge.

The applications are only open to international post-graduate students (Masters and Ph.D. level) and practitioners/professionals; civil society organization representatives in the field of migration.

A certificate of participation will be given at the end of the program. (In order to be eligible for a certificate of participation, participants must

  • participate in at least 8/10 sessions of the program  (and also participation to the final day of the program on 15th of August for the online final closing conference)
  • prepare at least 2000 words of essay requested within 1 month after the program is over. (selected papers will be considered for an edited book)

The application form in the link (click) must be filled in completely until 1 August 2022.

The detailed program and further information will be sent to the e-mail address specified in the application form of the participants whose applications are accepted at the beginning of August.
